A couple are celebrating an unforgettable 40th anniversary year after scooping a life-changing £250,000 National Bingo Game jackpot while on holiday in Bridlington.
Stephen Clarke, 67, was enjoying a break with his wife Dawn, at Hawthorne Holiday Park when they decided to spend an evening at Regal Bingo Bridlington on Monday 24 August.
A bingo player for more than 20 years, Stephen was playing the National Bingo Game when all his numbers came up, securing the £250,000 jackpot.
The win came as a huge shock, with fellow customers erupting into cheers and applause as Stephen realised he had won.
Stephen said: “We love coming to the club when visiting the area. I could not believe I had won the jackpot. Everyone started cheering and clapping — the crowd here are so welcoming.
“We are still in shock and haven’t decided how to spend the money, but we will be treating our family. We also plan to go on a cruise, as it is our 40th anniversary this year.”
Stephen and Dawn who are from the Greater Manchester area, have two grown-up sons and a two-month-old granddaughter and regularly visit Regal Bingo when they are in the area and are already planning a return later this year.
The win also adds to Regal Bingo Bridlington’s reputation as a lucky destination, with Stephen becoming the second holidaymaker to win a National Bingo Game jackpot at the club in just two years.
