Bridlington’s Christmas tree lights shone brightly after the official switch on thanks to Santa, Bridlington Round Table and the Town Council.
The huge tree, which stands on King Street, is adorned with hundreds of lights and brings plenty of festive cheer to the town centre.
Mayor Cllr Colin Croft, along with Santa and his helpers led the traditional countdown to herald the switch on of the lights and lamp post decorations.
Said Cllr Croft: “It was a great honour to press the button that illuminates the tree and town centre. Thanks to Round Table who chauffeured me through the streets from Tesco in their shiny new sleigh.”
A spokesperson for Bridlington Town Council said: “We received a wonderful offer from the volunteers at Round Table to help with the light switch-on. After their official sleigh unveiling earlier in the day, the group transported the Mayor down to King Street and helped us with the Christmas lights switch on. We would like to say huge thank-you to them and everybody who has helped with making the event a great occasion.”
