Fundraising events for Bridlington RNLI have brought in over £6,000 in just one month.
During July, several fundraising events helped to swell the coffers of the charity, with the Open Day at the end of the month attracting many visitors despite the inclement weather.
Press Officer Andy Brompton said: “The weather was not good, but the whole day went well thanks to Bob Taylor and his team of volunteers who put so much time and effort into organising and helping at the fundraising events.”
Town Mayor Cllr Liam Dealtry and his wife Michelle were guests of honour during the Open Day, with entertainment provided by Joe Stephenson. The volunteer lifeboat crew were on hand to show people around the new lifeboat station and around the two lifeboats. Teams from the Coastguard and also the Beach Lifeguards were also in attendance to advise about safety at sea.
Events at the Spotlight Theatre and a ‘Rock the Boat’ charity music festival at The Telegraph on Quay Road also added large amounts of funds to make a grand total of £6,100.
