Author Richard Jones is appealing for relatives of Norman Charles Fowler , a 19-year-old sailor who died after the SS Lulworth Hill was torpedoed in 1943.

Fourteen survivors drifted on a raft off Africa, but Fowler perished. Richard, who campaigned for George Medal plaques at Minerva Pier in Hull and Bridlington harbour, is researching a book on the tragedy.
He hopes family members can help reveal Fowler’s life and ensure the crew’s sacrifice is remembered forever and fully honoured properly.
