Hundreds of visitors enjoyed the secret gardens of Bempton as villagers threw open their gates to the public to raise funds for St Michael’s Church.
A total of nine gardens were open to the public, as well as the Church Hall, which was the registration point.
Julie Ibbetson, a PCC member and one of the event organisers, was delighted with the day.
“The weather was kind and we had lots of newcomers visiting. The Bempton Secret Gardens is an annual event which brings people together and we are very grateful to all who came to see the fantastic gardens.”
It is thought that the Secret Gardens event has been running for at least ten years, and is now a firm favourite on the circuit for those who like to see other gardens and get ideas for their own designs.
With proceeds from the sale of plants, refreshments at the Church Hall, and entry fees the event raised a total of £515.00
