Friends Vicki Dixon and Sarah Wilson have raised almost £800 between them after completing the Alzheimers Society Memory walk in September.
The intrepid duo walked the return 6.km route over the Humber Bridge for the Alzheimers Society U.K charity.
Vicki raised £560 and Sarah raised £204, making a grand total of £764.
Said Vicki. “My mum Beryl died aged 76 in January and was suffering from Alzheimers.”
She added: “As soon as my mum was diagnosed I thought of a memory walk as a way to give something back and help with much-needed research in to the disease.”
Hairdressers Vicki and Sarah undertook the Pretty Muddy event in York last year and raised over £1000 for Cancer Research UK.
They are already planning another fund-raising event for next year.
