Dozens of walkers put their best foot forward to raise funds for a local charity
The Motor Neurone Disease Association held their annual Walk To d’Feet MND at Sewerby Hall and Gardens to raise funds to help fight the debilitating disease.
Three local groups took part in the event; Bridlington and Scarborough, Hull and East Yorkshire and York.
Sue Mearns from Bridlington was one of the walk organisers and she was overwhelmed by the generosity of local firms and sponsors.
She said: “ On the day we took around £1300 which were proceeds from the raffle, tombola, book stall and Guess the Weight of a cake.”
“We are still receiving income in the form of sponsorships and registrations. We would like to thank everyone who helped in any way and also to the numerous firms and individuals who donated prizes.
“Our MND group are always in need of volunteers to help on these occasions. If you would like to help, please contact us via Facebook: Scarborough and Bridlington MND support group page” added Sue.
