Age UK shops in Bridlington urgently need the help of the local community to help it raise much needed funds to support the Charity’s work with older people.
To do this we are urging everyone in the town to donate their unwanted quality items to the shop, making sure they ask the Shop Manager to sign them up to Gift Aid when they do.
All people need to do is fill in a simple Gift Aid form when they take their donations to the shop which takes less than a minute. It is free to sign up and you only have to do it once; the only requirement is that you are a UK tax payer. Signing up to Gift Aid, means that Age UK will receive an extra 25p from the government for every £1 that is raised from donations.
Said manager Angie Rowlands: “Age UK shops are reliant on the kind donations of the local community to keep the shelves stocked. The shop accepts quality donations such as clothing, accessories, household items, books and toys, all of which are sold on to be loved again, money made helps to fund the Charity’s work including its free advice line (open 365 days a year), campaigns and support for Age UK’s network of local partners who provide essential services in their communities.”
The Age UK shops are on The Promenade and Prospect Street.Customers will be provided with a Gift Aid form and we will be happy to give you more information about the scheme if required.
Both shops are also currently looking for Volunteers to join our teams. We can offer experience in Customer Service, Processing, Stock Control, and Merchandising. This is a fabulous way to add skills to your CV if you are looking for work, or maybe you are retired and have skills that you can bring into the team.
