Organisers of a charity calendar have selected their final twelve pictures for publication after almost 10,000 votes were cast in a Facebook poll.
Murray Hills Solicitors have chosen the local Motor Neurone Disease Association as their Charity of the Year and decided to compile and sell a pet calendar for 2020.
Pet owners had their favourite animals photographed by Emma Addison from Bridlington and then put the pictures forward for a public vote.
Emma Long, calendar organiser from Murray Hills, said: “We knew that we wanted to create a pet calendar and once we had all the details in place we began the hunt for 12 wonderful pets to fill the each month and so the Facebook competition began. There were hundreds of fantastic entries from dogs to hedgehogs and horses and everything else in between.”
“From this brilliant menagerie the judges had the very difficult task of choosing just 24 finalists”
These finalists and their owners were invited to Emma’s studio for a fun photo-shoot. After a month of meeting these amazing pets and taking many stunning photos the judges picked their favourite photo of each from the shoots and these went to the public vote where 9,045 were cast.”explained Emma.
“These magnificent images will now go to the printers who will produce the 2020 Murray Hills Charity Pet Calendars and it is expected to be available from mid October. All profits are going to MNDa Scarborough & Bridlington group.” said Emma.
She added: “Thank you to everyone that entered their pet, all those that voted, shared and supported. It was a very difficult decision to find the 24 finalists and an incredibly close final vote for the top 12, you should all be very proud of your amazing animals.”
Winning animals were: Amber, Dexter, Maximus, Buddy, Solo, Reece, Honey, Hoggle, Neville, Milly, Luna and Salty.
