A Bridlington cricketer is proving a big hit in Australia after deciding to spend his gap year ’down under.’
Frankie Reffold, is playing his cricket in Adelaide for the Grange Dolphins team. He will be spending several months in South Australia before taking up his place at Leeds Beckett University in 2019 where he will take up his place to study Sports Coaching.
Said Frankie: “My first few weeks in Australia have been amazing. To do the thing I love most (play cricket) in a country like this is a dream come true. The weather, the fantastic scenery and the lifestyle makes it even better. Going to the beach, exploring the city, drinking a bit of cider and playing lots of cricket…life doesn’t get much better.”
His cricket career has got off to a successful start after years of playing for Bridlington Cricket Club
“Scoring 55 runs on my debut is also something I’ll never forget, I just hope I can carry it on all season. The conditions are different but I’m getting used to it. Obviously nothing beats playing on a cold windy Saturday afternoon down at Dukes Park in front of all the Bridlington Cricket Club supporters (aka The Muppets).”
