Youngsters at a village school have wowed the audiences with their latest stage production.
Bempton Primary pupils staged a one-act musical called Good News, which is a modern day re-telling of the Easter story. The play, which engaged the audience in a series of ‘live’ on the spot press reports from a group of time-travelling news correspondents, who witnessed events in Jerusalem over two thousand years ago.
Show Director and teacher at the school Miss Leah Gosling said: “ The musical took the audience through the story of Palm Sunday, the Passover, the crucifixion, the release of Barabbas and then Jesus appearing to Mary.”
The show, which was staged for an audience of parents and guests, was also watched by other youngsters in the school during the run-up to the Easter Holidays.
Added Miss Gosling: “I would like to thanks the Friends of Bempton school for their help creating the scenery and also to Miss Buckborough who was the assistant director.”
