Headlands School held its own election, with a prospective candidate coming in to speak to the students about how important voting is for the younger generation.
Catherine Minnis, the Labour candidate for East Yorkshire, answered questions from the students and discussed how politics affects everyone – both young and old. The result pretty much mirrored the national picture.
The results of the school election were as follows:
Conservative Party – 40.97%
Labour Party – 25.11%
Green Party – 17.62%
Liberal Democrats – 12.78%
Brexit Party – 3.52%
Turnout was 27% and there were 3 spoiled papers.
