Mud landslip covers the iconic Sewerby Steps making access impossible.

Walkers are being urged to avoid Sewerby Steps after a land slip this afternoon.

A large amount of wet soil has completely blocked the steps, making it impossible to access from the beach or cliffs.

Earlier in the month, the Coastguard put out an urgent appeal asking members of the public avoid walking underneath the cliffs or standing near the edges at the top.

The latest slippage is the second within a few months, and walkers are asked to avoid the area.

ERYC have been informed of the situation.
