There is still time to view the magnificent decorated trees at the ever-popular annual Festival of Christmas Trees at St John’s Burlington Methodist Church on St John’s Street in Bridlington.
This is the seventh year of the festival, which is organised by Bridlington Rotary Club.
The event will run from Friday 6th December to Sunday 8th and then on Friday 13th Dec – Sunday 15th. The venue is open for viewing on both Fridays and Saturdays between 10am and 4pm and on both Sundays between 12 noon and 4pm. There are around sixty decorated and illuminated Christmas trees on display which are provided by local schools / charities / uniformed organisations/churches and businesses.
On each of the two Fridays there will be singing by local school choirs and on the two Saturday’s singing by a number of local music groups and adult choirs.
Admission is free but there are donation buckets in aid of the Yorkshire Cancer Research and Rotary charities.
Organiser, John Fisher, said: “On Friday 6th December there is a Gala Concert with Weighton Waytes Choir and Hilderthorpe Primary School Choir. Tickets are priced at £5 (children free). John added: “Throughout the Festival the church runs a café offering drinks and excellent light meals at competitive prices.
The Festival concludes on Sunday 15th December at 4.30pm with an early evening ‘Celebration of Christmas’ event. There will be singing from the Churches Together Choir and Sewerby Methodist Choir plus congregational carols.”
