Lloyd Dowson, Chartered Accountants, Tax and Business Advisors with offices in Bridlington and Scarborough, have been unveiled as sponsors of the New Tourism Business category in the Remarkable East Yorkshire Tourism Awards.
For the first time they are also being run in association with the national Visit England Awards for Excellence 2020 and eligible winners will be automatically put forward to the national awards.
Founded more than 40 years ago, Lloyd Dowson currently look after more than 3,000 businesses, offering a variety of services from Accountancy, Audit and Tax to Payroll, HR Services and Cloud Accounting Software Solutions.
Mr Dowson, is also chairman of the Bridlington Business Forum and its regeneration partnership, said: “The visitor economy is vitally important to Bridlington and Scarborough’s futures and encouraging the tourism entrepreneurs of the future is key to that and why it was important for us to support this particular award.”
He continued: “New start-ups and business expansion are some of our specialist areas and with visitor numbers to East Yorkshire continuing to grow Iam confident that both Bridlington and Scarborough can look forward to bright futures.
“Both resorts have unique USPs; in Bridlington, for example, there has been lots happening that gives me that confidence, including the regeneration of the leisure centre. I think the way people choose to spend their leisure time is changing – more people are looking to spend their time in the UK now rather than going abroad,” he said.
The REYTAs are open to all tourism businesses in Hull and East Yorkshire, large and small. Entry is free and easy to complete and can be done online, from today, by visiting www.visithullandeastyorkshire.com/reyta
Entries must be in by noon on Monday January 20, 2020, after which a shortlist of finalists will be drawn up. Judging will then take place via independent panels and mystery shopping, ahead of the finals night, which this year returns to the Bridlington Spa on Thursday March 19th
