Major roadworks on the roads and footpaths of Kingsgate will take place in early October.
East Riding of Yorkshire Council intends to carry out the final section of carriageway and highway improvement works on the busy A1038; Kingsgate between Bessingby Road/Hilderthorpe Road and Kingston Road. The works will commence on Monday 7th October for a period of 18 weeks, between the hours of 09:00 and 5.pm (Monday – Friday).
The scheme will consist of reconstruction of the existing footway and carriageway and channels will be installed to improve the carriageway drainage, along with vehicle access alterations.
The works will be split in four main phases:
• Phase One – Between House No’s 99 and 61 (both sides of the road)
7th October 2019 – 1st November 2019*
• Phase Two – Between House No’s 61 and 35 (both side of the road)
4th November 2019 – 10th January 2020*
• Phase Three – Between House No’s 35 and 15 (both sides of the road)
13th January 2020 – 7th February 2020*
• Phase Four – Between House No’s 15 and 1 (both sides of the road)
10th February 2020 – 28th February 2020*
These are subject to change depending on weather conditions.
During each phase of footway and kerbing works, a one way system will be in operation for the full length of Kingsgate from Kingston Road to Bessingby Road for inbound traffic only with outward bound traffic using Cardigan Road and Kingston Road/Shaftesbury Road during the working hours only.
