A model flying club is inviting members of the public to come and see their flying machines in action…and even have a go at flying them.
The Willy Howe Model Flying Club is a small club located in the Wolds just outside Bridlington. The club boasts a flying field of approximately 3 ½ acres along with two runways; a main East/West runway of approximately 110m x 12m and a North/South one of around 70m x 7m.
The club also has a fully cut ‘control line’ circle of nearly 40m diameter that also allows smaller models to take off and land in any wind direction.
From 4th October (through to Easter) the club will be resuming their weekly indoor flying sessions at the Bridlington CYP on Gypsey Road. This will run every Friday from 7.pm to 8.30 pm
A spokesman for the club said: “We would like to invite interested members of the public to come and have a chat to learn more and see what is on offer.”
“New members can join the club for 50% of full year’s fees which is offset against next year – (up to 16 months for the price of 12). As an affiliated club, BMFA fees are of course also due if you haven’t already joined.”
“The club encourages all types of electric flying craft (for indoors) and encourages the safe use of the increasingly popular drones, with current legislation and information available.”
