A new ‘Children’s Market’ has been launched in Bridlington, and a second event is planned for Good Friday
Emmanuel Church on Cardigan Road saw the launch of ‘Petite Pre-loved & Friends’ Children’s Market.
The event showcased small local businesses selling and promoting children’s sales alongside local families selling pre-loved toys, clothes and crafts. The Sue Ryder charity also made an appearance, selling children’s themed stock from their local Bridlington branch.
A free face painting event was provided for children by local artist Julie-Marie.
Organiser Laura Cowling was delighted with the inaugural event.
“All businesses are set to return for the Good Friday Easter Special (19th April), plus there has been more interest since the launch in March. This is set to be a bigger and better market filling, the hall at Emmanuel church. There will be free balloon sticks to children on arrival, Easter themed sweet stalls, a games and crafts area.”
Local groups and stalls will include; Water Babies and Baby Sensory, Sue Ryder Charity, Emma Addison Photography, Lovely Little Gifts by Annie and Rosie, Twinkle Teethers, Sharon’s Sweetie Surprise, Abigail Dennis Usborne Books, Mayas Handmade Crafts, Lola Pops, and Face Painting by Julie-Marie.”
Also showcasing their services will be YASS Yorkshire who is a local community organisation dedicated to providing support and services to young adults in Bridlington.
The markets will run every month in Bridlington celebrating the academic school calendar and are set to open along the Yorkshire coast, with demand arising in Beverley, Scarborough and Driffield.
Laura added: ‘We are excited about this year’s upcoming events, we have plenty of freebies and activities for children in store this year.”
