The foreshores office in Bridlington has moved – the team now reside in offices next door to their previous office, on South Promenade
The foreshores team have a broad role, from promoting the hugely popular chalets available to hire all year round in several locations in Bridlington to providing paddling pools and similar facilities, and also enforcing bylaws where required, relating to such issues as whether dogs are allowed on beaches.
Making the promenades, chalets, and beaches accessible to all is a key role of the team, who provide lightweight, all-terrain beach wheelchairs free of charge (with a refundable deposit) and the All Ride Scheme aimed at people with disabilities, offering adapted bikes and safe cycle routes along the North Promenade in Bridlington. Bookings for All Ride and the beach wheelchair can be made via the foreshores team.
Dogs are not permitted on the beaches from 1 May to 30 September and must be on leads on the adjacent promenades.
Maintaining clean paddling pools, and caring for the promenades at the key East Riding resorts is another major part of the team’s remit – essential to maintain the image of Bridlington for tourists and residents alike. Part and parcel of this are maintaining vital life-saving equipment. Keeping the beaches clean and safe is another part of the team’s role.
