These stunning images taken by local photographer Julie Pilling are the feature in this month’s edition of the Bridlington echo Picture Post.
Said Julie: “I have always been fascinated with the weather. A couple of years ago I began taking photographs of different cloud formations, sunrises, waves etc. Ever since then I have been hooked.”
Julie shoots with a Canon EOS 1300D along with a selection of lenses. She is self-taught and is always researching new techniques – night-time photography is a favourite subject for Julie at the moment
She added: “It’s become an obsession to the point of dashing out half way through preparing a family meal. One evening I told my husband I had to capture a moon rise. He looked at me as though I had gone completely mad”.
“The only advice I can give to people thinking of taking up photography is don’t let anyone put you off. Speaking from personal experience I have had a few knock-backs along the away, but its made me all the more determined to carry on” said Julie.
For Julie, photography has now become a major part of her life, and judging by these wonderful pictures we hope she carries on.
