This morning, Thursday 27 December, a 39-year-old man has been jailed at Hull Magistrates Court for assaulting two officers on Christmas Eve.
Aaron Wilson from Astoria Court in Bridlington pleaded guilty and was sentenced under the new Emergency Services Act to four months for the two assaults which happened on Gordon Road in Bridlington.
He has also been charged with three counts of criminal damage on cars during the incident which were also taken into account.
A spokesperson from Humberside Police said: “We continue to highlight assaults on officers, recognising the support we have had from our communities how unacceptable this is.
We will pursue where possible and use the new legislation to seek prosecutions.”
