Popular Store Set To Close Its Doors

A popular discount department store in Bridlington has confirmed it will close.

The Original Factory Shop located at Park Rose, Carnaby has confirmed the store is set to close in coming weeks despite being a well-performing location after the landlord served notice on the store.

During the summer it emerged that The Original Factory Shop would shut 32 stores after its Company Voluntary Agreement (CVA) was approved, however, the Bridlington branch was not on the list of closures.

Officials say it is too early to confirm an exact closing date at this stage, however likely to remain open until 5th January.

A spokesperson for The Original Factory Shop said, “It’s a great disappointment to have been served notice on this store. We tried really hard to come to a suitable agreement with the landlord; especially as this is a store that has been performing well and where we are proud to play an integral part in the community.”

An email has been sent out to customers on their mailing list stating a 25% OFF closing down sale has been launched.

The Original Factory Shop say they have entered consultation with 12 colleagues at the store and will explore all possibilities to continue to trade in Bridlington in the near future; following the closure, the nearest where customers can visit TOFS will be in Hornsea (12 miles) or online at www.tofs.com
