Hundreds of pounds have been raised for a charity that provides vital help for a Bridlington youngster.
Christ Church Pre-School, which is based on Quay Road, held a fundraising day for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust which helps Lillie Chippendale who attends with her brother Stanley..
Lillie, who is almost five, suffers from Cystic Fibrosis which causes problems with her breathing and makes her susceptible to lung and chest infections.
Donna Shields, who is the Business Manager at the pre-school, was overwhelmed with the generosity of both local businesses and also visitors who attended the event.
She said: “There has been a wonderful response and I would like to thank everyone who has donated prizes for the raffle and tombola and also to parents, families and members of the public for helping us to raise £748.27 – a wonderful amount of money.”
Donna added: “Staff and youngsters all wore yellow clothing to mark the day…it was wonderful to see everyone joining in.”
Lillie’s mum Stephanie added: “Many thanks to everyone who has supported us. Lillie is a very happy and confident little girl and she is having such a wonderful time at Christ Church pre-school.”
“It means so much to share Lillie’s story and raise awareness of Cystic Fibrosis. It is an invisible illness and it is important for people to understand.”
