A Bridlington Young Farmer has reached the finals of Miss Great Britain 2020.
Sammy Lambert, who is an arable farmer, is one of 25 finalists taking part in the competition.
Said Sammy: “I chose to enter Miss Great Britain as I think a lot of people think it is just about looking good, wearing make up and wearing a evening gown. But I want to try and change that opinion of people by showing people its not all about that.”
“Having the job I have I only wear make up on an evening when going out. I hardly wear dresses and I am probably covered in muck and dust all day from my horses and farming.”
“The Miss Great Britain has various rounds including interviews so they can get to know you as a person and it is focused more on being confident within your own body and inspiring other people.I want to show people, that especially with social media, not all is what it seems as there are now Apps out there you can change the look of your photo, body and face shape.”
“I would like to be a role model that people can look up to so that you don’t always have to be concerned about how you look all the time. In the past, I have always been a person would worry what others thought and that I would never achieve anything as I would be too worried about other people’s opinions. For for that reason also this is why I am doing Miss Great Britain. I want to inspire young girls to be confident in themselves.” added Sammy.
Each year Miss Great Britain chooses two charities to raise money for. This year they have chosen Cancer Research UK and Alex’s Wish which is a charity helping Duchenne (a severe muscle wasting disease affecting one in every 3,500 male births).
To help raise more awareness for these two charities I am doing the loop-the-loop challenge in November which I will be taking to the skies with Aerosparx Display Team and doing a loop-the-loop in one of there planes.
