Two ambitious scholars have been awarded £30,000 to help support them through university.
Headlands Sixth Form students Isabelle Marshall from Bridlington and Sophie Coates from Flamborough were granted the bursary to support costs of their tuition fees whilst studying at university.
Isabelle is hoping to become a paediatric surgeon after studying medicine and Sophie is looking to train as a solicitor after studying law.
The panel of Mr Cooke (Director of 6th Form), Mrs Stamford (Deputy Head), and Mrs Isham (Vice Chair of Governors) interviewed a number of students as a result the pair have been awarded the sum of £30,000 each to support the costs of their tuition fees.
Mr Cooke said “It is a great privilege to be able to have such a positive effect on the lives of another pair of Headlands Scholars, affording them the ability to begin their chosen career pathways without the concerns associated with student loan repayments.”
