Crew from the Bridlington all-weather lifeboat (AWB) were in action today as they came to the aid of a foil-surfer in the seas off Fraisthorpe this afternoon.
The call came after the coastguard and the inshore lifeboat went to the assistance of a paddleboarder yesterday lunchtime on the Northside of Bridlington
Here are the details.
The volunteer crew at Bridlington responded to their second shout in as many days this afternoon after they were called into action whilst on exercise today.
As the crew were practising search and rescue exercises in the all-weather lifeboat about 5 miles east of Bridlington this afternoon, when they were then tasked with assisting a foil surfer who was said to be in difficulty, close to Fraisthorpe Beach.
The all-weather lifeboat managed to reach the casualty in around 8 minutes, by which time the man had been in the water for over 30 minutes and was cold and exhausted.
The crew managed to get the man and his foil aboard the lifeboat and he was then transferred to a Coastguard team that had waded out to meet the man.
The all-weather lifeboat kept the foil board and returned it to the boathouse, before continuing on with the search and rescue exercise.
Thanks to Sarah and Jordan for the pictures and Steve for the rescue information.
