A Bridlington couple are appealing for help in setting up a soup kitchen in the town for homeless and needy people.
Philip and Donna Andre, from New Pasture Lane, are hoping to join forces with other like-minded people or organisations to help with distributing soup in the town.
Said Philip: “I have had experience of running a soup kitchen in Ipswich with a church charity. There is a lot of hidden homeless within the Bridlington area.”
Philip is training in mental health awareness and is hoping to qualify as a counsellor. He is looking to join with a group of volunteers who are prepared to give up an hour or two during the evening to help serve hot food.
“I spent six year homeless in London between 1992 and 1998. I started to work as a volunteer and luckily got my life back on track.” explained Philip.
“We already have a trailer, so just need fold-away tables, flasks, and food containers.” he added.
If you would like to help Philip please contact him on 07592-964515 between 10am – 5pm.
