A Bridlington-based sports partnership has been recognised as top in the country for the amount of schools they have helped to reach the School Games Mark Award.
The School Sport Partnership is based at Bridlington School and consists of 77 primary and secondary schools across the East Riding. This has been managed by Angel Rhodes, Partnership Development Manager for the past 11 years.
Said Angel: “Our main focus as a partnership is providing inter school competition and sporting opportunities for both primary and secondary aged children, gifted and talented programmes, leadership activities, in school support and teacher training.”
“All schools Nationally are measured on their outcomes for Physical Education and School Sport. This quality mark is called the School Games Mark. Our School Sport Partnership has recently been recognised as being Number 1 in the Country for the amount of schools achieving the School Games Mark awards for 5 years running consecutively.” said Angel
“There are currently 500 SSPs across the UK and this is a huge achievement and all schools across the partnership should be incredibly proud as we also have the highest amount of Gold and Platinum awards across an area.”
“Our partnership goes from strength to strength due to the fantastic support we get from the head teachers and staff. We are an extremely proactive area for PE and School Sport and I am thrilled that we have been given recognition for this. A further 16 schools are eligible for the Platinum award this year which is amazing. A huge thank you to the head teachers and staff for their continued support and hard work and a massive congratulations to all of the pupils across the area.”
