The Harbour Tavern on Queen Street held a charity fundraising event to support the Bridlington Lifeboat recently.
In the run-up to Christmas, landlady Sonja Olsen-Kjolnes and assistant manager Katie Carr, hosted various events to help raise cash for the charity.
A number of raffles were held with prizes generously donated by both Morrisons and the Harbour Tavern. Other events included a ‘Bush Tucker Trial’ which involved eating a number of unappetising foods such as worms, crickets and even a meat pie made from dog food.
One of the most popular prizes was for one winner to see how many pints they could pull for themselves behind the bar in ninety seconds….the winner managed to pull a grand total of four pints.
Bob Taylor, Bridlington Lifeboat Fundraising Chairman, and one of the crew members Jordan Harrison went along to the Harbour Tavern to say a personal ‘thank you’ to the staff and customers on behalf of RNLI Bridlington.
A cheque amounting to a grand total of £1,131.48 was formally handed over by the management and staff to Bob and Jordan who were delighted with the large amount of money collected and the warm welcome they received.
