This is the scene at the Londesborough Hotel on West Street this morning.(Thursday 18th October).
Fire fighters are still in attendance at the scene of the huge blaze and the surrounding area is now fenced off.
Further Inspections will take place today to help decide whether the pub can be rebuilt or is beyond repair and will need to be demolished.
Almost 40 firefighters from Humberside Fire and Rescue Service were called to the incident on West Street at around 1.30pm yesterday , Wednesday 17th October.
Flames were seen shooting through the roof at the height of the blaze and acrid black smoke hung over much of the area for several hours. Some nearby houses were evacuated and residents were moved to the nearby Spa complex where they were made comfortable and provided with refreshments.
An initial safety inspection took place last night. Further inspections and safety checks will take place throughout today.
The road remains closed around the site of the fire, though there are many small diversions available around the side streets.
