The second Bridlington Gala has been declared a success after the forecasted wet weather held off and hundreds of people descended on the sports fields next to Moorfield Road Car Park.
Part of the event encompassed the Bridlington Youth Festival with volunteers manning stands and stalls.
A dog show proved one of the main attractions of the day, with dozens of pooches and their owners competing in the various classes. The show was organised and sponsored by Claire O’Brien from Fielddale Gundogs. There was a large selection of inflatables, funfair rides, dozens of stalls, a ladies cricket competition, as well as hot and cold food outlets.
One of the event organisers Shelley Murphy from BSCC was delighted with how the day had gone. She said: “The 2019 Gala was well attended and has grown each year. We have already started to plan the 2020 Gala which will be even bigger. I would like to give a massive thanks to all the staff, volunteers and organisations involved.”
A representative from the Bridlington Youth Festival commented: “This has been a great example of partnership working in Bridlington and an opportunity for members of the Bridlington Youth Coalition to promote their activities.
