Video of seabird rescue earlier this evening.
Fire and Rescue teams from Bridlington attended a call-out to a seagull that had become trapped upside down and dangling from a lamppost.
Two appliances, including a telescopic ladder, attended the incident on Quay Road in Bridlington earlier this evening.
The herring gull was spotted – trapped by one of its feet in a precarious position – by seven-year-old Ava, who noticed the bird in distress and lots of other seabirds circling and screeching overhead.
Ava urged her mum to get help – who then called Humberside Fire and Rescue for advice.
Within a few minutes two appliances arrived and carried out a successful rescue operation in centre of the roundabout.
The seabird was then taken away and checked over for any injuries.
