The Lissett Community Wind Farm Fund panel – which receives an annual donation from operator Ventient Energy as part of its commitment to create a community fund – have allocated an amount of money for the security of homes in the East Wolds and Coastal Ward.
The fund has so far helped secure over 200 homes and this round of funding – which has a grant total of £2,000 – is available until October 2020.
The funds are available in: Barmston, Beeford, Brandesburton, Burton Agnes, Burton Fleming, Carnaby, Foston, Harpham, Hutton Cranswick, Kelk, Kilham, Langtoft, Nafferton, North Frodingham, Rudston, Skerne and Wansford, Skipsea,Thwing, Ulrome, Watton, and Wold Newton.
The aim of the project is to continually reduce burglaries in dwellings and non-dwellings, reduce the risk of re-offending and reduce residents’ fear of crime.
Home security assessments and the supply and installation of home security equipment to dwellings and outbuildings have been some of the measures carried out previously.
Jane Evison, chair of the Lissett Wind Farm Community Fund panel, said: “This, again, is a fantastic opportunity for the communities surrounding Lissett Airfield Wind Farm to feel that little bit safer thanks to this generous grant.
To be referred to the funding, or to nominate a neighbour for referral, please contact one of the local Parish Councils in the area; the local police community support officer; or the local Neighbourhood Watch co-ordinator.
