People with a learning disability who attend Worklink have been busy preparing unique floral displays to delight visitors to Sewerby Hall and Gardens.
This is to mark the 80th anniversary of the classic movie ‘The Wizard of Oz’.
With the support of staff and volunteers, people with a learning disability have been utilising their horticulture skills to create a series of stunning displays.
The displays are now in place in the Walled Garden and are made from recycled materials.
Steve Bromley, employment training co-ordinator at Worklink Sewerby, said: “Everyone has put great time and effort into creating these wonderful displays which always generate a lot of interest from visitors to Sewerby Hall and Gardens.
Worklink Sewerby is used by over 30 people with a learning disability, aged 18 and over, who are working towards developing skills in horticulture, with a view to eventually gaining employment in the profession.
