A woman has been taken to hospital with serious injuries following an incident in Bridlington this morning.
Humberside Police said “A grey Citroen C4 sped away from officers in St John’s Walk at around 5.15am and a woman was found lying injured in the road.
The car was found abandoned in a nearby car park a short time later.”
The woman has been taken to hospital for treatment and a 40-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.
Detective Inspector Andy Robinson said: “Our teams are still at the scene as part of our ongoing investigation into the circumstances of this incident and I’d like to thank everyone who has come forward to assist us so far.
“At this stage, we believe that all parties involved were known to each other and there is no risk to the wider public.
