Two Bridlington youngsters have smashed through their fundraising target after more than doubling the number of donations for their chosen charity.
Five-year-old Charlie Walker and his brother C.J. aged six, walked five miles from Sewerby Hall through Bridlington to the Fire Station on Bessingby Road.
Charlie, who had the idea to raise funds for the Firefighters Charity after seeing them in action, handed over a cheque when he and his brother arrived at the Fire Station.
An on-call fire appliance followed the youngsters for part of the journey with help from and encouragement from mum Michelle.
In total, the youngsters raised £570 from their JustGiving page and donations are given to them along the route of the walk.
Mum Michelle said: “We are all very proud of them and I would like to say a big thank you to all the support from the on-call firefighters and Crew Manager Andy Temple who got everyone together and helped along the route.”
After arriving at the Fire Station the youngsters were shown around and had a chance to sit in an appliance and enjoy some refreshments as a reward for all their hard work.
