After starting his hockey career in Bridlington at the age of 7, Oli rapidly progressed through the ranks to establish himself as one of the leading junior players in the area. Hockey runs in the blood in Oli’s family. His mum Jayne played for the Humberside mixed team and still plays regularly for the Brid

lington Ladies 1st XI. Jayne commented: “Oli trains constantly and this had led to his progression to a place in the national under 16s squad. He puts in hours of training and plays as often as he can.”

Despite an injury in training recently, Oli has fought his way back to full fitness and battled through to achieve his call-up for England training. Oli has been helping out with junior coaching at Bridlington Hockey Club and has been mentored by England and Bridlington player Di Levitt.

He plays club hockey for the Driffield Mens 1st XI and will start training at Lilleshall to prepare for the first game against the Netherlands in march next year. “I would like to thanks everybody for helping me with my hockey over the years.” added Oli.
