A Bridlington chatoty that helps veterans and their families have been nominated and were in the final three in the national Soldiering On awards ceremony and one local volunteers awards.
M.A.S.H (Military Assistance Social Hub) are a friendly, welcoming and inclusive group for veterans and serving military personel and their families, providing support and assistance.
Firstly, in September of the Soldiering On awards after attending the House of Lords to deliver a presentation on what M.A.S.H within the Family Values award category provides to Armed Forces Community and secondly as a finalist in the Team awards at the Time2Volunteer awards.
M.A.S.H Chairman Craig Leach and Lead Fundraiser Martin Barmby travelled down to London, firstly visiting The House of Lords to deliver a pitch about the merits of Bridlington M.A.S.H.
A few weeks later, a star studded event held in at the Park Plaza Hotel in Westminster, saw M.A.S.H. receive the runner-up award in front of 650 guests, including event host Jeremy Vine, TV star Vicky Michelle, high ranking military personnel and ministers.
Said Craig; “Unfortunately the night wasn’t ours. We had a fantastic time and felt honoured to have gone through to the top three in the country.
“That said though for what M.A.S.H’s volunteers do on a daily basis has shown that we are one of the top three organisations in the country for providing services along support and assistance to veterans, those serving and their families which make up the varied, diverse and wonderful Armed Forces community.
“I want to thank everyone of our amazing volunteers for all that you do and
please hold your heads up high being proud to
say that for a tiny little charity like M.A.S.H.
we have run with purely volunteers against those
that have boards and CEO’s and other multiple
paid roles.
You are all priceless for what you do, because you can and because you care.” added Craig.
