A teenage Bridlingtondarts player is heading to Gibraltar to take on the world’s best juniors.

Aaron Hustwaite, 16, plays for the 180 Lounge in the Junior Darts Corporation (JDC) Volts and has qualified to compete in the World Championships in Gibraltar, despite only having taken up the sport two years ago.
Hustwaite, who now lives in Leven, plays at both junior and adult level throughout the week in Bridlington.
He first started playing at home in December 2023 but once he turned 14, began playing in the Amateur Darts Circuit in Bridlington.
Later in the year the 180 Lounge formed a JDC Academy and Hustwaite began to play more regularly.

His proud mum Mandy said: “In his first year he qualified for the Academy Masters and also the Winmau World Masters.
“He is now in his second year and plays monthly in the Foundation Tour, where he is hoping to earn his tour card.
“This year he has qualified for the Super 16s, as well as the World Championships.”

Hustwaite is currently averaging in the mid-70s, although he often gets 80-90s.
Aaron is ranked No.1 in the Yorkshire & Humber series having registered six 180s, 16 140-plus and 46 100-plus scores. Recently he was runner-up in a Junior Volt tournament at Nellie’s Club in Hull,impressing with five wins on his way to the final.
He is honing his skills by playing in The 180 Lounge Premier League, where he competes against some of Bridlington’s best adult dart players.
A third place finish in the Summer Series event saw him score 25 180s, with 153 100-plus and 59 140-plus scores with an overall average of 72.
