Flamborough Bird Observatory along with RSPB Bempton, Yorkshire Wildlife Trust at the Living seas centre and Filey Bird observatory are holding their annual Migweek.

It’s a week long event with guided walks, ringing demonstrations, visible migration watches and in person talks from experts in bird migration.
Migweek runs from the 14th of October until the 22nd October and has various events happening throughout that time.

Every day vistors can participate in the following: 8am-12pm Ringing demonstration at the Living Seas Centre, South Landing, Flamborough
Meet FBO’s ringing team, see birds up close and discover the secrets of migration that bird ringing is helping to discover.

9am-1pm Information Station in the Discovery Room, Living Seas Centre, South Landing, Flamborough – Information on Migweek events, bird sightings and find out about the work of FBO. FBO reports, clothing and books for sale.
7.30am-9.30am Visible Migration drop-in session. – Share the magic of visible migration with Keith Clarkson and the team.

To make the most of visiting opportunities the location of each day’s watch will be subject to the evening weather forecast on the night before.
The chosen site may be at Hunmanby Gap, Bempton or Flamborough. Please check after 7pm on the previous evening to know where to meet.

7am-11am. Daily ringing demonstration Filey Country Park – Meet Filey’s ringing team and see birds up close. Parking is opposite the caravan site. Follow the signs beyond the cafe. Please note all talks and walks are number limited and must be booked in advance by emailing info@flamboroughbirdobs.org.uk.
All events and ringing demonstrations are weather dependent, some late changes may be necessary, please visit the website after 7pm each evening for updates.
