Stunning picture taken at Bempton…
This astonishing moment was captured by bird watcher and photographer Dan Howe at RSPB Bempton today.
The breathtaking image shows a female peregrine falcon snatching a puffin from mid-air.
The astounding images were taken this afternoon (18th May) from Jubilee Corner Viewpoint at the bird sanctuary near Bridlington.
Dan spoke exclusively to the Echo and explained how he captured the dramatic photo.
“I was taking pictures from the Jubilee Corner viewpoint at Bempton cliffs and had noticed the perigine falcon perched a small ledge on the cliff face.
“Moments later I was tracking a puffin with my camera when the peregrine falcon swooped on the puffin”
“I think the puffin got away as I saw the perigrine back on the ledge moments later without any prey.”
“An absolutely incredible scene this afternoon at Bempton Cliffs,” Dan commented.
