Bridlington celebrated a remarkable sporting achievement after local boxers Oli Male and Emily Asquith both claimed gold medals today (12 June) at the prestigious Four Nations Boxing Championships.

Representing their country against some of the finest amateur talent from across the home nations, the pair produced outstanding performances to stand proudly on top of the podium at the Ravenscraig Regional Sports Facility, Motherwell.
Emily Asquith showcased her determination, skill and tactical awareness throughout the tournament, overcoming tough opposition to secure the gold medal in impressive fashion in the Senior Female u80kgs category. Her victory caps off months of hard work and dedication in training and further establishes her as one of the region’s brightest boxing prospects.

Fellow Bridlington boxer Oli Male also delivered a superb display of boxing ability, demonstrating composure and power to claim championship honours. His gold medal success in the Senior Male u75kg section reflects his commitment to the sport and the support of his coaches and teammates.
This win marks an incredible run of 14 wins out of 14 bouts this season for Oli.

The double triumph is another proud moment for Bridlington Boxing Club, highlighting the strength of talent being developed within the town based at the Club for Young Peopel on Gypsey Road in the town.
