A Bridlington couple are believed to be one of the first in the country to receive an official anniversary card from King Charles III.
Robert (Bob) and Shirley Sedman who live in Bridlington, have celebrated 60 years of marriage and this was recognised by King Charles and the Queen consort Camilla in the form of a rare anniversary card.
The card was sent by special delivery and inside the King wished the couple congratulations on reaching sixty years of marriage.
Bob and Shirley married at the Bridlington Priory on 4 October, 1962 and have always lived in Bridlington.
They have three sons and a daughter, eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Bob previously worked as a painter and decorator, and in the last 20 years of his career was employed by ERYC.
Shirley was a seamstress and worked at the former Sewing Centre on Queen Street in the town centre.
To celebrate the couple enjoyed an anniversary meal at Manor Court in Bridlington with their family.
Shirley said: “We were delighted when we received the card from King Charles and Camilla as it must be one of the first to be sent out as he started his reign as King.”
