Race the Waves brings a taste of vintage motorsport to Bridlington town centre today with a pop-up merchandise stand at the May Day Market on King Street.

Visitors will have the chance to meet members of the popular beach-race crew, chat about this year’s event and pick up official Race the Waves goodies, including clothing, posters and souvenirs.
The stand proved a popular stop for shoppers and motorsport fans, with organisers on hand to share details about the much-loved Bridlington event, which returns to South Beach later this year.

The Race the Waves festival is set to roar back onto South Beach this September, bringing another thrilling weekend of vintage motoring, beach racing and nostalgic seaside spectacle. The popular event, which celebrates the golden age of motorsport, will once again see pre-1940s cars and motorcycles race head-to-head along the sand in front of thousands of spectators.
The events runs from 11-13th September with registration at Bridlington Old Town on 11th and two days beach racing on 12-13th September.

A pre meet event at Burton Fleming will be held in 10th September.
Inspired by the days when Yorkshire’s beaches were used for land speed record attempts, Race the Waves has become one of Bridlington’s standout annual events, drawing enthusiasts and visitors from across the country.

Alongside the dramatic beach racing, the festival will feature classic vehicles, retro displays, Ken Fox’s Wall of Death display, tanks on the beach and a lively atmosphere celebrating motoring heritage and vintage culture.
With anticipation already building, organisers are preparing for another unforgettable weekend as engines fire up and Bridlington’s South Beach is transformed into a unique racing circuit steeped in nostalgia
