Bridlington Old Town will go back in time as the historic streets come alive in a flashback to the Dickensian period.
Organised by the volunteer team at ROBOT (Regeneration Of Bridlington Old Town), the group is once again proud to bring to Old Town a street festival for the whole family.
This coming Sunday (4 December), from 10.30am to 4pm, will see High Street once again transformed and ringing to the sounds of tinkling shop door bells, festive singing and dancing, and with the uniquely Dickensian atmosphere that Old Town offers.
Max Lunn from ROBOT, said: “Coastal Voices will perform in the morning; alongside and throughout the day – Bridlington Pipe Band; Makara Morris Dancers; Beverley Garland Dancers; Bridlington 252 Sqn Drum Band; Ben Couper on his magical violin; Gaslight Walking Jazz Band and Julian Priestley on his accordion.”
There will be dozens of stalls selling all kinds of temptations, from street food to Christmas gifts, crafts and decorations.
Added Max: “The pubs and restaurants will be warm and inviting on a cold winter’s day, many with crackling log fires.
“The galleries, antique shops and tea rooms will be ready to welcome you, for all your Christmas shopping and refreshment needs.
“Come along and join in the fun, and spend some quality time in Bridlington Old Town.”
The whole length of High Street will be closed to vehicles, so vistors can walk at their own pace.
“As an added bonus, this Christmas will see the erection of sets of new lights along Market Place, High Street, and in partnership with ERYC and the Yorkshire Coast BID an extension of lights along Kirkgate between the Bayle and the Priory.” added Max.
Bridlington Town Council have kindly provided the Old Town Christmas Tree and the lights and many of ten shops are already beautifully decorated for the festive season.
