Bridlington RUFC head over to West Yorkshire once again as they look to cement their place in the top three against a Bramley Phoenix side who, at the opposite end of the table, are looking to secure their safety in the Counties 2 Yorkshire Division.
Bridlington’s last two games have put the side back on course for promotion, with the Blue and Golds claiming the points against Bradford & Bingley and then, on home turf, defeating fellow promotion hopefuls Roundhegians 20–12.
However, Bramley Phoenix may not have had the rub of the green in some of their matches and could prove to be a potential banana skin for Sanderson’s side.
Head coach Callam Sanderson had this to say ahead of Saturday’s clash with Bramley Phoenix: “Following our win at home against Roundhegians, we gave the lads a week off after a really tough month during March and came back into training this week full of energy.
“We’ve got a strong side out this week. I think giving the lads a week off and having no game last week gave us the chance to rest a few bodies. Plus, we’re pretty much full strength now. We’re going with a strong side and a good bench as well. We’ve got every confidence to hopefully go there and get five points, which will keep us in the chase.
“To be fair to Bramley Phoenix, they were a good side when they came to us in December. They were abrasive and they challenged us, which dragged us into a backs game. But our main challenge is whether we can go there and secure five points.”
