The team at Bridlington In Bloom (BIB) has taken the decision to re-enter the prestigious Yorkshire In Bloom contest, after a gap of many years for the town.
Bridlington is being entered into the large towns Coastal Category (up to 35,000 population).
A spokesman for the group said: “Spring and summer judging will follow and the team would like to appeal to local residents and business owners to help the town to flourish florally and environmentally. Community participation is highly rated and must be demonstrated to the judges when they visit the town in July 2024.”
“In the meantime the BIB team would like to invite any locals or business people who might like to join the team, to begin to prepare and plan for the contest. BIB is already working in close partnership with ERYC Grounds officers and Town Councillors, who already do a huge amount to ensure Bridlington looks its best all year round. In addition there will be a number of additional projects rolling out over the coming months.
Schools, Sewerby Park, Old Town, the town centre, businesses, residents, visitor attractions, street cleansing, beach cleaning and arrival points and others will all feature as to how they can contribute.

BIB will also be working closely with Brightening Up Bridlington, as litter picking and community projects are vital to success in the YIB competition.
