A busy March for Bridlington Swimming Club as they started the month off by hosting the Hull & District Gala 2 at the East Riding Leisure Centre Bridlington Pool on the 12th.
The club entered a total of 30 swimmers and had a great day of competitive racing. BSC collected 12 Gold Medals, 6 Silver and 7 Bronze. This was a fantastic team effort by all swimmers as there were a brilliant 53 personal bests set on the day.
Sunday 18th March saw the club travel to the Beverley Barracudas sprint meeting. Bridlington took 15 swimmers who had a fabulous day taking 16 Golds 15 Silver and 3 Bronze medals, There were 44 personal best times recorded, and this shows that all the hard work put in by the coaches and swimmers is paying off.
A road trip by coach up the coast to Whitby on 25th March saw the club take part in the Scarborough and District Swimming Association Ridings League Division 2 Gala. Due to some swimmers at other events Bridlington had a somewhat depleted team, but nevertheless swam well. Again there were lots of personal bests recorded and great swims from our younger club members who were competing in their first Gala. Coming in 3rd overall, but with only 4 points between 2nd & 3rd place, BSC held their heads high. Eleven personal bests were also recorded.
Saturday and Sunday also saw 4 club members attend the British Schools Biathlon Championships at Crystal Palace with Matilda Stringer and Niamh Hall racing Saturday and Alfie Scruton and Ozzy Stringer taking part in the Sunday event.
