For farmer Richard Jackson, this year Driffield Show marked his first in the prestigious role of Chairman.
Richard, who owns North Dale Farm near Grindale, was the Livestock Secretary at the show for ten years and has now stepped up to the role of Chairman of the Driffield Show Committee for the biggest one-day agricultural show in the country.
Said Richard: “We thought it was a wonderful show…all the feedback was positive and everyone seemed to have a good time.”
He added: “ It was a feel-good show, the weather was kind and it cooled down slightly in the afternoon. The quality of the trade stands was excellent, the effort that businesses put in was tremendous. It is also a big day for the exhibitors as they play host to their clients.”
But there is no rest for Richard who has been a committee member for 20 years. He will be starting the task of harvesting, and then in August will meet up with the rest of the show committee to plan on next years Driffield Show.
