Visitors aboard Bridlington-based angling boat Heidi J looked on with amazement as the brazen seal tried to pinch a mackerel from the end of a fisherman’s rod.
The angling trip was out in Bridlington Bay this morning (September 13th) when the incredible incident occurred.
This time of year there’s an abundance of mackerel near to the shores of the east coast, but the audacious seal though it would be an easy meal to steal a fish that was ready caught.
Despite a couple of attempts and even lifting itself out of the water to steal the fish, the bold as brass seal left empty mouthed as the fish was reeled aboard the boat.
